The Tjangala man refers to the Fire Dreaming story of Warlugulong and was painted for Frank Mosmeri, who was a very close friend of Clifford’s. Frank helped Clifford with picking up his painting materials and drove him around when he stayed in Melbourne. It was painted with great care and attention to detail and is in contrast to the bold, larger works he typically created. It is believed to be unique in its representation of a single Tjangala man.
