Luke had a particular attachment to Geckos and the one featured has markings particular to his country. This painting featured in the Jowalyuppa (Two Brothers) exhibition, a major showing of the works of Luke and his brother John which ran at the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery from September 10 to November the 14th 2004. The Ballarat Fine Art Gallery is the largest regional public gallery in Australia.
